What should I do now?

I bought a new laptop, thinking it would work with my new Mbox. Its a gateway 7405Gx 512mb, 80gb hard drive, AMD Athlon 64, Windows XP SP2. Doesn't work, have basically tried everything, the DEP fix didn't work. Basically what I am asking is what should I do? Should I uninstall Windows SP2, if so how would I do that and would I be able to use my computer for other applications. I am at the end of the road, someone please help me!
