China cyberspace regulator issues guidelines targeting offensive comments against businesses

HONG KONG, August 10 (Reuters) – China’s cyberspace regulator has released a series of guidelines on Thursday aimed at curbing offensive remarks directed at businesses through social media channels. This move is part of Beijing’s broader effort to enhance the business climate.

The Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC) emphasized that online platforms should prioritize the resolution of false and deceptive content pertaining to businesses in the digital sphere. Additionally, the guidelines underscore the need to tackle offensive comments targeting entrepreneurs and the unauthorized disclosure of individuals’ private information on the internet.
