Telstra Group, Australia’s leading telecommunications company, has announced a collaboration with Elon Musk’s Starlink to deliver fixed broadband and voice services to rural Australians.

In a blog post, Telstra stated that it will offer a bundled package of home phone service and Starlink broadband services to customers. This partnership aims to provide an additional connectivity option for people and businesses residing in rural and remote areas.

Telstra plans to make these new service options available to customers and businesses by the end of the year. The company also emphasizes that the Starlink broadband service will offer faster download speeds compared to traditional copper-based Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Lines (ADSL).

Starlink, operated by Musk’s SpaceX, has rapidly expanded its satellite network, comprising more than 3,500 satellites in low-Earth orbit. This network enables connectivity in remote areas that were previously underserved in terms of internet access.
